Baran: Second time in the gap of just one week, Congress vice-resident Rahul Gandhi addressed yet another massive Congress rally in poll bound Rajasthan on Tuesday. Speaking at Krishi Upaj Mandi ground in Baran Rahul Gandhi slammed opposition for blocking several pro-poor initiatives of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre. Rahul Gandhi reached out to aam aadmi during the huge public rally saying that the Congress has come out with the Food Security Bill and Land Acquisition Bill to empower the weaker sections of the society. “Before the Land Acquisition Bill, any government was free to grab anyone’s land citing any reason. The main sufferers for such acts were the poor who shed their blood and sweat for the country. No one asked for their consent before grabbing their lands. We have now changed this altogether. We brought the Land Acquisition law to stop such atrocities towards the poor farmers so that their children can dream big. We brought this law to empower the farmers, to honour their hard work” said the Congress leaders amidst loud applauds
