The UPA Government at the /centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Ji had provided funds of several thousand crores under various schemes to the state but the Akali-BJP Government did not utilize these funds properly,” said Sonia Gandhi. “Instead of using these funds for the development of Punjab they diverted the money to protect their own petty interests and for the benefit of their own people” she added. “The present Government never listened to the voices of the poor. We will have to take out the state from this darkness” urged Sonia Gandhi.
