Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi who was on a two-day visit to Assam reiterated his party's call for strengthen women participation in all sectors of the country. He was addressing a group of 600 women from different walks of life before concluding his two-day visit to Assam. "We always try to give some top posts like President, Prime Minister, chief minister, MP and MLA to women. We also want them to get top powerful positions in all sectors. We hope women will come forward in all sectors and be powerful," said Rahul Gandhi.

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Friday met human rights activists at Jantar Mantar here and assured them the government would bring an ordinance on anti-corruption and human rights bills. "Those in the opposition have said that they are against corruption and want to fight it. But when the time came to pass the Bills against corruption, they did not support," Rahul Gandhi told mediapersons. "Let us see if the ordinance can be brought or not.
