What you do not realize is that while you are doing jobs, you are building the bridge that is going to connect these two Indias. Some of you would be more interested in your jobs and may not be much interested about what is happening in the country. But while you are doing your job, while developing software or any other IT products, while working on computers, without knowing it, you are building that bridge. There may be people who are taking special interest in the national affairs. And they may be doing works in that regard apart from their job. Anyhow, you have already started the process of connecting our nation and I want to thank you for that,” commented Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi at IIIT Amethi: Question yourself to gather more knowledge

Congress General Secretary and MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi spoke at the occasion of the convocation ceremony at IIIT Amethi and said that one should question yourself to gather more knowledge.
“I had mentioned that there was a time I was sitting where you are sitting now. When I was sitting there I thought that I have the answers for all the questions. But later I knew that that is not the fact. I am very passionate about my ideas. Even today I am very passionate. Now I realise that the most important thing one should do is to question one’s ideas. I found it in my life that when I am most certain about something, when I am hundred percent sure that this is the way to do it, very soon I find that I was wrong and there is actually another way to do it and a better way”.

Rahul Gandhi at IIIT Amethi: Knowledge is created by the destruction of knowledge

“Knowledge is created by the destruction of knowledge” said Rahul Gandhi while speaking at a convocation ceremony at IIIT Amethi. “In order to question one self, one has to listen to him first because once you do not listen to others, you cannot question yourself”.
“There were a lot of things in my mind which I thought were correct were destroyed now and I no more believe in those. Those were replaced by new ideas and I am absolutely certain that some of the ideas which I had today may get destroyed tomorrow. And that is a good thing because none of us are god. We do not have eternal knowledge or eternal understanding. Life is moving forward and constantly questioning your ideas and thoughts.” added the Congress leader.

So, that is where our lot of work is going to be...I will continue that...I view my work as working for the people. I will do my work".

Rahul Gandhi: To gather more knowledge, go towards the problem

“To gather knowledge, go towards the problem. That is what I did experience” said Congress General Secretary and MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi while addressing the convocation ceremony at IIIT in Amethi.
Addressing the students Rahul Gandhi said “The first thing I told you was to question yourself. And the second thing is that to gather knowledge, go towards the problem.” “When I go to a poor person’s house and asks about the things he does, I get the knowledge. So I realize that he knows better than me about his nature of job. So it is very important to respect the person’s views who is much closer to the problem” further said the Congress General Secretary sharing his own experience.
“In order to respect the person’s views, who is much closer to the problem, you will have to give equal status to that person” asserted the young Congress MP. “There is a feeling among the politicians in India that they are the most knowledgeable persons. Understanding the knowledge is built on the destruction of the knowledge. In our ancient scripts there is a trinity- creator, preserver and destroyer. There is a reason behind it. You cannot have creation without destruction. You cannot have destruction without creation.  And you cannot have either of these two without preservation” added Rahul Gandhi.
“And that is the same with knowledge. To get the current knowledge you will have to destroy the existing knowledge. To destroy the existing knowledge you will have to question yourself. You will have to learn to question yourself and question the persons around you.  The more you do that the more knowledgeable you will become” said Rahul Gandhi concluding his address.

Rahul Gandhi at IIIT Amethi: Knowledge resides closest to the problem

Congress General Secretary and MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi spoke at the occasion of the convocation ceremony at IIT Amethi and said that the knowledge resides closest to where the problem is.
“So my humble request to you students is that when you are absolutely sure about something, you please question yourself because you may be probably wrong. The other thing I want to tell you about the nature of knowledge. In India this is the big problem” said Rahul Gandhi.
“I could fortunately travel many places across the country and meet a lot of people. So I see multiple perspectives. I could very early found, before talking to poor persons, farmers, other sections, engineers, doctors, that every one’s point of view is important” added the Congress leader.
“You may be good at IT but if you go to a farmer he can tell you much about farming. Knowledge resides closest to where the problem is. So if you are a farmer, you will be having the better knowledge about the farmers. Same is the case with IT. Generally what could see is that the more you are closer towards the problem, you will have better knowledge about that problem” said Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi at IIIT Amethi “India achieved a lot after independence”

Congress General Secretary and MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi spoke at the occasion of the convocation ceremony at IIT Amethi and said that our country did achieve a lot after the independence.

So we have a responsibility to the rest of the world. One out of every six human beings is an Indian. In the last sixty years, after we achieved Independence, we have worked very hard to move forward” said Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi continued “There is a general tendency among us in India to say “kuch ho nahi raha..”, to complain. But if you look objectively about what we achieved as a country we will realize that we have achieved a lot”. “When we had started sixty years ago, all of us were poor. All of us were not connected with each other.  There were no proper roads, electricity, schools, healthcare centres sixty years before.  There was no proper connectivity. Villagers were not connected. The energy of India that lies within the people, was spread around and was not connected to each other and not talking to each other” added the Congress leader.

Rahul Gandhi: I am here to change U.P, not to secure any post

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi categorically made it clear that that he was not obsessed with any post and that his mission was to change and develop Uttar Pradesh and the coming assembly polls would be solid for the party.

"Rahul Gandhi's obsession is not to be PM. Rahul Gandhi's obsession is to work for the people," said the Congress leader. "All the political leaders in India, all the top ones, have an obsession for PM post. This is not Rahul Gandhi's obsession”. "My mission is to change UP, bring development to UP” said Rahul Gandhi.

Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party over corruption, the young Congress MP added its leader L.K. Advani and BJP leaders had laughed at him saying that constitutional status to Lokpal  was his idea but Rahul Gandhi said that a constitutional status for Lokpal was "India's idea".

Rahul Gandhi said there is a beauty in the design of the Election Commission which has constitutional status. "Let us make a Lokpal Bill along the same lines." He said Advani overlooked corruption in BJP-ruled states during his anti-corruption yatra.

"Whenever there has been a problem of corruption in the Congress party, any place, any time, we take action. We have put ministers in jail," asserted Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi further said "Elections results for the Congress will be solid." "People are looking up to the Congress seriously. This is what people told us. The common man in Uttar Pradesh is telling me they have been fooled for the last 22 years," added the young Congress leader.

"What is going on in UP for the last 22 years is a crime, nothing less than that," Rahul Gandhi said, adding he was confident that Uttar Pradesh has the energy to transform itself.

"I have realised the power of the people of the state. I have realised that this state can stand on its feet very soon," said Rahul Gandhi and added that his mission was to strengthen the Congress in the state of U.P.  "Once the Congress party is strengthened, it will define whatever happens in the state," said Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi: Congress talks of people irrespective of their caste, religion

Slamming non-Congress parties - BSP, SP and BJP, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had said unlike these parties which put up big slogans to befool the people, Congress (I) believes only in action. “We do not talk of religion or caste; we talk about people irrespective of their caste or religion; we talk about good governance and development of the state,” said Rahul Gandhi while addressing public meetings for the recently held UP Assembly elections. “We do not hanker for power like other parties do; we work for welfare of the people whether in or out of the government,” added the Congress leader. That is why seeing the plight of the poor and unemployed in the rural areas UPA government launched rural jobs schemes to ensure 100 days employment to rural poor. “We provided waiver of Rs. 60,000 crore worth of agriculture loans despite skepticism of opposition about it,” said Rahul Gandhi adding “We managed to do it because we believe in honoring every commitment.” Highlighting that while Congress (I) is sending welfare and development schemes with necessary funds one after the another the leaders like Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav have been looting the money thus depriving the people of the benefits of such schemes. Appealing to the people to give chance to Congress (I) to form government in the state, Rahul Gandhi promised that it would put in place a system to ensure that the benefits of the welfare schemes reach the people and money for development is expanded on earmarked works.

Keeping in view the alarming situation of unemployment in the state, center sent MNREGA scheme for providing guaranteed employment to the poor.  Massive amount of Rs 60,000 crores was released, said Rahul Gandhi adding that MNREGA is a flagship program of Congress (I)-led UPA government.  It provides guaranteed minimum 100 days employment @ Rs 120 per day to the poor, thus putting 120 x 100 = Rs 12,000 in the pocket of the poor, informed the congress leader. It gives employment, income and respectable social status to the poor, added Rahul Gandhi. But she stole the money and the poor did not get anything. Non-Congress patties in UP exploited the resources and had fun, forgot poor: Rahul Gandhi

Launching a blistering attack against non-Congress parties like BSP, SP and BJP for dragging the state of Uttar Pradesh backwards over the last 22 years, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had said that these non-Congress parties have misused government funds and bid their time in fun instead of working for the welfare of the people and development of the state.
All non-Congress Chief Ministers in the last two decades thought that people of UP were fool and they had no understanding of their own, Rahul Gandhi had said while speaking at a public meeting in Jewar, Noida recently as part of his Congress campaign in the state. “They have been making false promises to the voters of UP and come into power. And once they come into power all they do is exploit the resources and have fun,” further said Rahul Gandhi.
It is time to stop this rut and the people’s need for progress and development must be respected, added the Congress General Secretary. Arguing that that the only way forward to free the state from all these miseries was to help Congress (I) to form a Government in the state, Rahul Gandhi urged the people to vote for Congress (I) to make this possible. Rahul Gandhi assured a fast track development under Congress and said, “Give Congress 5 years and we will show you what we can do. We will change the face of the state and you will be able to see the impact in five years.”
