Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi acknowledged the significance of the Congress leader and UPA’s presidential nominee Pranab Mukherjee. While talking to the press said about Pranab, "We learn a lot from him".
The gesture by the young Congress MP came close on the heels of the Congress Working Committee meeting, which saw Prime Minister Manmohan Singh saying the trouble shooter of Congress and the UPA will be "missed".
Rahul Gandhi also was present at the CWC meeting and he also met Mukherjee personally. Emerging after the hour-long meeting, Rahul Gandhi said that Pranab Mukherjee is one of the most experienced Congress leaders.
"We learn a lot from him. It was a matter of great happiness that he was going to become the President of the country," said Rahul Gandhi.
After the CWC meeting earlier, AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said Mukherjee will file his nomination on June 28. Mukherjee has said he will resign as Finance Minister tomorrow.
