Telling the people that the blind promises given by non-Congress parties like BSP and SP during every election are of no use, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had said, “Congress is fighting this election to bring positive change in UP and to ensure better future of the people.” “We are not here to make promises. We are here to work for UP to take it forward on the path of development,” said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a big Congress rally in Hardoi as part of his Congress campaign in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Alleging that these non-Congress parties have betrayed the people in the last 22 years by giving false promises, Rahul Gandhi said that hollow promises brings nothing. “If we want to develop, then the voice and strength of the people should reach the Parliament as well as Assembly,” further said the young Congress MP from Amethi.
Striking an emotional chord with the people Rahul Gandhi repeated, “You will see Rahul Gandhi among the people in the UP villages, till I ensure development is back in the state. From 2004 onwards you are seeing me at various places in UP”. The Congress leader declared that he would bring in positive changes in UP and I would not leave till he finished it.
Requesting the people to support Congress, Rahul Gandhi promised that Congress will do for the people in UP which these non-Congress parties failed to do during the last 22 years.
