Sonia Gandhi in Karnataka takes on BJP, questions its stance on corruption

Congress President and UPA Chairperson who was on a one-day visit to Mangalore in Karnataka, launched a scathing attack on BJP on Thursday and said that it never took any serious action to fight corruption. She also claimed that the Centre had given Rs 80,000 crore to the Karnataka government in the past five years, but questioned if the state government had let the money reach the people or used it in programmes meant for the welfare of people. Addressing a public rally, Sonia Gandhi targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Karnataka accusing it BJP of spreading lies against the Congress-led UPA government and making attempts to defame them. She slammed the state BJP government saying, "People want to get rid of the corrupt state government."
