Rahul Gandhi calls for unity in Karnataka Congress

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi asked the Congress workers and leaders in Karnataka to work as a unit to remove the ‘corrupt’ BJP government. The Congress leader was on a two-day visit to the state to galvanise the party for the electoral battle ahead.
On a two-day visit to Karnataka to rejuvenate the Congress, Rahul Gandhi blasted the BJP government, charging that they had only one record with them and that was corruption. "There is no other state more corrupt than BJP-ruled Karnataka," said Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi also said while addressing a youth Congress convention said when one half of the state was reeling under drought, BJP was busy indulging in corruption and fighting among themselves.
The Congress MP from Amethi added that the central government gave funds to the state to implement pro-people's schemes, but it did not reach the common people. "The BJP leaders become rich and the people remain backward," alleged the Congress General Secretary.
Rahul Gandhi, who had visited Karnataka a month after party President Sonia Gandhi came to the state, asked Congress workers to stay united to ensure the party's return to power.
"Congress is the only party which can change the fortunes of Karnataka and it is necessary for both the experienced and young party leaders to work in unison to root out BJP government from the state," said the Congress MP from Amethi.
Erstwhile Congress Government in Karnataka was pro-farmers, pro-Dalits, pro-poor and pro-people, but BJP government has divided the people and made them fight each other, argued Rahul Gandhi.
"During earlier regimes, the whole state used to move in unison," reminded the Congress leader.
