Rahul Gandhi argues: People of UP want solid action, not empty promises

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while speaking at a huge Congress rally in Pilibhit, as part of his recent campaign for Congress in UP, had said that development cannot be brought in by just promises. Rahul Gandhi had led the Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh. Rahul Gandhi added that for the past 22 years the people of UP heard only promises. The Congress leader argued that the leaders from the non-Congress parties come to the people and make promises during the elections, and they disappear after the polls.
Referring to the poll promise of the SP, he said, “Mulayam Singh Yadav now promises free electricity in the entire U.P. He was the Chief Minister thrice. There is no power plant built in the past 22 years to produce electricity and so how can he provide free electricity now?”
“These non-Congress parties wasted your 22 long precious years making promises. Mulayam Singh Ji also promises that he would convert Bundelkhand to Israel. No one in Bundelkhand wants Israel. They want electricity, water and sufficient food. But he talks about Israel,” emphasized the Congress General Secretary.
Rahul Gandhi requested the people to elect Congress candidates and help the party to form a Government in Uttar Pradesh. “If given a chance for Congress, the development will be visible in five years and in ten years the state will be transformed completely” assured the Congress General Secretary.
