Rahul Gandhi, the All India Congress Committee General Secretary who had headed the Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh questioned the intention of both BSP and SP and slammed for making toll promises without delivering anything. Rahul Gandhi alleged that both of these parties never bothered about the issues of the people and ignored them completely. These non-Congress parties never gave ears to the pain of the poor, farmers, weavers and poor workers, said the Congress General Secretary.
While addressing the issue of the minorities Rahul Gandhi told the gathering, “It was Congress which implemented the Sachchar Commission. Congress granted reservation to the minorities. Congress sanctioned a relief package for the Bunkars” and the crowd acknowledged it with applauds.
Reminding the people about the approval of a relief package for the weavers in UP, Rahul Gandhi said “Bunkars in U.P had approached me. They pleaded for assistance as they face a lot of difficulties. They informed that they had approached both SP and BSP but no one listened to them. They also shared that they are not able to secure loan from anywhere. We took them to the Prime Minister and the Centre immediately approved a relief package for the Bunkars. We introduced a Bunkar credit card and also helped them to get loan upto two lac rupees”.
Rahul Gandhi urged the people to support Congress and assured that Congress is committed for bringing in positive changes in U.P.
