Rahul Gandhi: Congress eyes long-term, others think only about today

Launching a blistering attack on non-Congress leaders -Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati- for putting the development in Uttar Pradesh in back gear during their regimes, Congress General Secretary RahulGandhi said that Uttar Pradesh will become the number one state in development if a Congress government is formed in the state. “UP was once a leading state in the country; but during the last twenty two years BJP, SP and BSP have been working on their casteist agenda rather than thinking about the development of the state”, Rahul Gandhi said. “Tell me if there is one state that hasn’t developed under Congress (I) rule, Rahul Gandhi asked while addressing a public rally as part of his Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh.  Congress (I) frames policies with vision and plans for the future, further said Rahul Gandhi and added that the non-Congress leaders in UP do not think about future, eradicating poverty, but are just bothered about today. “They just think how to swindle central funds meant for poor and development schemes” alleged the Congress leader. “They neither talk to farmers nor interact with common men,” said Rahul Gandhi. “What would they plan for your future? Rahul Gandhi asked”. Highlighting that Congress (I) has experience, visionary plans and necessary expertise to develop the state Rahul Gandhi requested the people to bring in change in UP and asked the people to support Congress in the state.
