Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi lashed out at BJP for closing its eyes to the issues of the poor and common man. The Congress leader was addressing a mammoth rally at Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh as part of his Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh. Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress gets information regarding the issues of the poor directly from them as it goes to the people and mingle with the masses. “But BJP gets the information from TV,” said Rahul Gandhi
“We did come to know these problems not from TV, not through bureaucrats or officials, but directly from the people,” repeated Rahul Gandhi.
“When drought-hit Bundelkhand was crying for help neither Mayawati Ji nor Mulayam Ji helped them. I had personally requested the Chief Minister to kindly go there. But she refused,” informed Rahul Gandhi.
“I could not gather the knowledge that I could get from the aam aadmi elsewhere, even by my studies in U.S” added Rahul Gandhi. “You, the aam aadmi, possess tremendous knowledge. No leader has the knowledge like you have. But the leaders should come to you to gather this knowledge” asserted Rahul Gandhi.
