Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: It is better to have MP & MLA from Congress

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while addressing an election meeting at Jagdishpur in Amethi, on the second day of her second leg of campaign in Amethi and Raebareli, urged the people to strengthen the hands of Congress by supporting and electing Congress candidates in the upcoming assembly election in Uttar Pradesh. She added that her party Congress identifies with the rights of people and makes policies based on them.
“This place has now merged with Jagdishpur. You have to cast your vote in the region Rahdhey Ji (The Congress candidate). You must have examined what your MLAs did for you in the past. Rahul Ji has brought in important schemes for the benefit of the people and your region. If you strengthen the hands of Radhey Ji, it will be easy to bring in development here and to find solutions for your problems because both the MP and MLA would be of the same party (Congress). You must have noticed the policies Central Government; they send funds for your benefits. But those funds are getting blocked in the state.
There will not be a balance in functioning if the MP and MLA belong to different parties. The MLA creates hindrance for whatever your MP wants to do for you. Your Member of Parliament and the Central Government have been doing whatever they can do for you. Your region was attached to this constituency just two years back and so the expected developments have not yet happened here. To develop this region and to find solutions to your issues it is very important that you have a Congress MLA here. Election is on 15th (February). This election is very important not only for your future or future of your region but also for the future of the entire state. This election is a crucial one because for the past 22 years you have witnessed governments, which failed to bring in proper development here. But in these 22 years other states surged ahead, progressed and could strengthen their future. But here the situation is that you are being victimised by those who are supposed to serve you and ensure your security. You are forced to beg for your rights… They think that you will be obliged if they do any minor developmental work here and there… But the reality is that this is your right.
