Congress will work as a catalyst for change in UP: Rahul Gandhi

Attacking parties likes BSP, SP and BJP for keeping the state stagnant in terms of development, AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said that only Congress (I) is working as a catalyst for change in Uttar Pradesh.  These parties have kept the state in stagnation while the neighbouring states are developing fast, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a public meeting in UP as part of his campaign for ongoing Assembly elections.
The people have tried these parties too long but they failed to deliver on their promises each time, he said. Stressing that only development can change situation, Rahul Gandhi said that UP needs change which only Congress (I) can ensure. He further said Congress (I) does not believe in making promises which it cannot be fulfilled and added “We make only one promise that Congress (I) will work for the people and development of this state.”
He said since 2004, the government at the centre is a government for the common man. It have given schemes like MNREGA, loan waiver scheme for farmers, weavers’ package, national highways and JNRUM. “We do not have a Congress government in UP and yet we have done so much here,” added the Congress leader.
Highlighting that should both the central government and UP government be of Congress (I) the pace of development would be much faster, Rahul Gandhi urged the people this time to give a chance to his party to form government.  He assured that Congress (I) will usher development in the state in next five years.
