Accusing both Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party and Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party, Rahul Gandhi has said these leaders have betrayed the trust which people of UP had placed in them. During his campaign in Shahjahanpur for Assembly elections in UP, Congress (I) leader accused BSP and SP for indulging in caste politics and emphasised that it was essential for the people to get rid of these two parties. While addressing a rally, Rahul Gandhi said, “You showed full confidence in the BSP and gave it 208 seats in the last elections, but did Mayawati come to you or hear your problems?” Congress (I) leader added that earlier people believed in SP but it too gave them nothing. On the contrary they got criminals posted in police stations and the victims did not get justice. Since both of these parties had cheated the people, Rahul Gandhi said Congress (I) deserved to be given a chance to put an end to the worst situation brought about by these parties.
