Rahul Gandhi At the 126th birth anniversary celebration of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru talk about Pandit ji's ideology of tolerant country. As concluded in his book discovery of India Pt. Ji mentioned that India is one of the most tolerant country and tolerance is what makes our country great. In his speech he condemns RSS and BJP for not accepting the fact that knowledge comes from practice and each Indian has freedom to raise their voice. Rahul said this behaviour not only shows intolerance but in a way it is disrespecting each and every indian citizen's dignity.

National Herald Case at Patiala House Court

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not achieve his dream of a ‘Congress Mukt Bharat’ and Congress won’t bend at any cost. He was speaking after his mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi and himself were granted bail within minutes of the hearing of the National Herald case in a Patiala House court. Bail was granted on Rs.50,000 personal bond and one surety each. Rahul also claimed that the Prime Minister and his government were repeatedly making false accusations against the opposition. Addressing the media, Sonia Gandhi said that the government won’t be able to destroy the Congress and added that the latter will try their best to bring the truth out. She also said that the BJP is targeting them intentionally and won’t achieve success.

He spoke for over an hour and praised the people who in his view were the architects of the document that allows me to speak here today. He mentioned Gandhi ji, he praised Ambedkar ji, he spoke about the contribution of Rajendra Prasad, Vallabh bhai Patel and he even had a couple of words for Jawaharlal Nehru.

President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh also offered floral tributes to India's first woman Prime Minister at her memorial in Shakti Sthal. A series of functions have been organized today to highlight contribution of Indira Gandhi in nation building.

Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi pay homage to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his 126th birth anniversary

Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi paid floral tributes to country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru as the nation celebrates his 126th birth anniversary on Saturday. Former PM Manmohan Singh also came to pay tribute to Nehru at his memorial in Shantivan. Cultural programs were organised in the memory of late Pandit Nehru who played an eminent role in India’s freedom struggle. President Pranab Mukherjee was a part of the tribute paying ceremony at Shantivan. Vice President Hamid Ansari also paid floral tribute to Nehru. Meanwhile, as part of children's day celebrations, many programmes will be organised in schools remembering the children’s favourite ‘Chacha Nehru’.

Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi pay tribute to former PM Indira Gandhi on 31st death anniversary

Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to former PM Indira Gandhi at Shakti Sthal on her 31st death anniversary. Indira Gandhi was killed by her Sikh bodyguards on October 31, 1984. Along with Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, President Pranab Mukherjee, former PM Manmohan Singh and Vice President Hamid Ansari also paid tribute to Indira Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi flags off procession at Red Fort Ground on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, while flagging off a procession at Red Fort Ground in Delhi on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, asserted that India belongs to people of every religion, every caste and every section, even as he stressed the need to give “more attention” to the cause of the weaker sections of society. Addressing a gathering of people of the Valmiki community Rahul Gandhi said the country belongs to people from all religions and castes and sections. He also maintained that a special focus should be given to the cause of empowering the weaker sections of society “if everyone is to stay happily in the country”. “Congress’ ideology tells us that this country belongs to all...to people of each religion, caste and each individual. All should live with respect and love and harmony. And if we want everyone to stay happily, then the weaker ones, oppressed ones, who don’t get space, they need to be given priority,” said Rahul Gandhi.

New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday addressed Kisan Mazdoor Samman rally in Delhi's Ramlila Maidan, stating his party compelled the NDA government to withdraw the contentious Land ordinance. “Three times they had brought the land ordinance and at the end said his Mann ki Baat. A few days back he had said that land ordinance will get lapsed and they will not finish off Congress' bill” said Rahul Gandhi. “PM Modi is not only taking away our lands, but mothers also. Land is a mother of farmers and they want to give it to someone else..Every person has mother. There is no one who doesn't have mother. When we cry we remember our mother, when we our happy we remember our mother” he said.

Nation remembers Rajiv Gandhi on his 71st birth anniversary

President Pranab Mukherjee led the nation in paying homage to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 71st birth anniversary on Thursday. Congress President and Rajiv Gandhi's wife Sonia Gandhi, son Rahul Gandhi, daughter Priyanka Gandhi, son-in-law Robert Vadra and granddaughter Miraya Vadra paid tribute at his memorial, Vir Bhumi, in New Delhi. Vice-President Hamid Ansari and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also paid homage to Rajiv Gandhi. Birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi is observed as Sadbhavna Diwas (harmony day) in the country. Rajiv Gandhi became the youngest PM of the country when he took office after his mother Indira Gandhi's assassination on October 31, 1984. Rajiv was killed by an ethnic Tamil suicide bomber while campaigning in an election in the south Indian town of Sriperumbudur in May 1991.
