Rahul Gandhi: Elect Congress to mitigate people’s difficulties


Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi reiterated while campaigning for the Congress in Uttar Pradesh that only Congress is fulfill its promises to serve the poor and aam aadmi.

Slamming the non-Congress parties like BSP, SP and BJP for the rampant corruption and lack of development in the state, Congress (I) General Secretary said that his party Congress will find ways to solve the problems of the people.  Congress (I) is aware of the harassment being faced by the people for the last two decades at the hands of these non-Congress parties. Due to corruption people unemployment has been increasing. The youth in UP are forced to migrate to other cities for jobs. They are forced to work in Maharashtra amidst the threats by the Shiv Sena workers.  How long will this continue? Rahul Gandhi said that the people of UP need jobs in UP. This bad situation has arisen because the previous non-Congress governments have been busy in looking after their own interests only. If given chance this time, Congress (I) will change this situation assured Rahul Gandhi.

Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra campaign for Congress in UP


Congress President Sonia Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra campaigned for Congress in UP for the assembly polls 2012. Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had also addressed an election rally together in Raebareli. They requested people to support Congress and elect Congress candidates for bringing back development in Uttar Pradesh.

Rahul Gandhi: BSP and SP have cheated the people of UP


Congress General Secretary RahulGandhi who was campaigning for Congress in Uttar Pradesh said said that 22 years of misrule by the non-Congress parties, especially SP and BSP are responsible for the bad state of affairs and living conditions in the state. Slamming both Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav, Rahul Gandhi has said that these leaders have betrayed the people of Uttar Pradesh.  Rahul Gandhi accused BSP and Samajwadi Party for indulging in caste based politics and reminded that it was important that the people put an end to this negative politics. Rahul Gandhi said, "You reposed your faith in the BSP and gave it 208 seats in the last elections, but did Mayawati come to you or heard your problems in the past five years?" Congress (I) leader added that people had trusted SP too but the people got nothing in return. They got criminals posted in police stations instead and the people could not get justice. These parties duped the people over the past 22 years said Rahul Gandhi. “Congress (I) deserve to be given a chance to to put the state on the track development” asserted Rahul Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Unchahar, Raebareli seeks support for Congress


Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who campaigned for Congress in Raebareli, has asked the people to change the state Government in UP by electing Congress candidates. She listed out the failure of the successive non-Congress Governments in U.P. While speaking at an election meeting at the Unchahar assembly segment in Raebareli, Priyanka Gandhi said that these governments did not fulfill responsibility to the people.

“I belong to the family which has never looked back, which has never gone back on its words. You know that when any member of my family had decided to do anything, he does it. Be it the freedom struggle, the division of Pakistan or taking India to the 21st century”, said Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while talking at a big public rally in UP.

UP can again reach back to the top that’s why Rahul Gandhi is here. The young generation can do it. The youth of the state wants to develop, they want employment and they want to move forward.

Earlier speaking at a public meeting at Puranpur, Rahul Gandhi said, “It is your duty to work for a change in the state. To bring development, prosperity and a change in the state you will have to come ahead, you will have to lead from the front and I am here to hold your hands We will work together and bring back the lost glory of the state”.

“Earlier the states used to follow Uttar Pradesh. but UP itself is lagging behind today,” Rahul Gandhi added.

“The bad state of affairs in UP can be changed only by the youth. Rahul Gandhi is not here for elections. Rahul Gandhi is here to change UP and I am not alone, the youth of the state are with me,” said Rahul Gandhi.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi started his second day of campaign today from Kayamganj. Although Rahul Gandhi reached quite late at the venue, residents of Kayamganj waited in large numbers to welcome the leader.

It was again a welcome full of flower petals. The people were out on the roads in large numbers with flower petals in their hands. Clad in a white kurta-payjama, Rahul Gandhi smiled, waved and mingled with them.
