Rahul Gandhi’s concern for dalits is Mayawati’s eye sore
Lashing out at BSP Mayawati for ruling Uttar Pradesh in the name of dalits but doing noting for them, Congress (I) has said Mayawati will bite the dust in the coming Assembly elections. Dalits are frustrated because her ministers stole money sent by the Centre for welfare of the poor, said Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while campaigning for the UP Assembly elections. She has been simply throwing doles at dalits instead of implementing capacity building programs for them so that they could stand on their feet. On the contrary Congress (I) has rolled out number of programs for dalits like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme (MNREGA), National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Janani Sauraksha Yojana (Safe Motherhood Delivery) for women, he further said. He reminded the people that he has been visiting the houses of dalits to share their concerns and find solutions for their issues adding that this has given him true state of affairs the poor are going through. Highlighting that while Congress (I) has worked for the dalits, Mayawati has been duping them, Rahul Gandhi urged the people to give Congress (I) a chance this time to form government and assured them that a government of the poor by Congress (I) will work for their welfare.
